Steyr Arms launches its new rifle STEYR THB (Tactical Heavy Barrel), a special 6.5 Creeedmoor calibre model, based on the renowned rifle MANNLICHER PRO HUNTER.

The STEYR THB mounts a cane SX Semi Weight green polymer, reinforced with glass, material that is weatherproof and exceptionally durable. It comes with a 25" cannon length with a step of 1:8 to maximize the potential of the loads of the 6.5 Creedmoor. The cannon comes threaded to accept brakes or suppressors with a 5/8 thread step-24 UNEF (including a thread protector). Incorpora a 20MOA Picatinny lane. THB measures 46" (1170mm) and weighs 4.2 kg in vacuum. It comes in series with the ball of the round tactical lock.

Like other high-performance rifles offered by Steyr, the THB presents the Safe Bolt System (SBS) bolt action perfectly coupled to a heavy profile with its exclusive 2 + 1 security system that offers a triple system weapon insurance. The fire mode (deactivated safety) is indicated with a red point; the first level of safe mode deactivates the firing mechanism and the second level of insurance serves to block the bolt against the cane and also has a press tab to release the SBS switch from the safe position. It comes with a monogamous trigger with hair.

THB feeds through the patented polymer charger STEYR 4 bullets, which has a 2-stage loader attachment mechanism. The first stage blocks the charger, but allows the lock to operate without hooking and coupling the loader's bullets, which gives the operator the option of loading bullets individually by hand while maintaining a complete charger ready. One more touch at the bottom of the charger and is placed in the second stage, preparing for automatic loading. An optional 10-round charger and adapter kit are also available.

Cerrojo Mannlicher SBS (Safe Bolt System)

The SBS Lock developed and patented by STEYR MANNLICHER, is the safest concept of global lock. In case of shooting a cartridge with overpressure or if there is a blockage in the cannon, the user is always protected from any physical damage that could be caused by exhaust of gases or mechanical breakages.

Only the SBS system uses an additional safety cap that completely encapsulates the tetons and the extractor. Consequently the user is fully protected against any gas exhaust with overpressed cartridges that can be fired without knowing it.
